In one CPT I have:
* A Custom Field: Description, that is blank for the option Show in extra output location. When I add a listing however, the description shows in the Details Page Sidebar. Custom Fields, Categories, and Tags have the same thing. Blank for the option Show in extra output location, but in the listing, it shows in the Details Page Sidebar.
* A Custom Field: Special Offers. When I add a listing and fill out the text field, the Special Offer shows the text Special Offer in the Details Page Sidebar, but it does not show the text that I added in the listing.
Any help would be appreciated
January 9, 2019 at 2:56 pm #462338Hello,
we have fixed a similar bug that will be in the next release.
We can take a look at your site to find out if it is the same issue or something else.
Please make sure you have licensed and updated all your GD plugins and addons.
Then write back with a private reply and include WP Admin and FTP so we can debug the issue.
Thanks

Fix will be in next release. Till next release you can fix by updating this patch: https://github.com/AyeCode/geodirectory/pull/572/commits/77cdb3ff2a996c655737e85986923e5fa4e2e3b7
Let us know how it goes.

January 10, 2019 at 9:43 am #462454Hello Kiran,
OK now you scared me 😉 I am working on building a WP site for the first time in years, so this comment has got me bamboozled.
Are there instructions for how to go about this? I will try anything once, but here I need some help.
I have run into a new issue though that a field that is not required, does show in the sidebar while left blank. Will the patch help with that too?
And when will the new release be?
Thanks for your help 🙂
January 10, 2019 at 9:48 am #462455Better to wait for the next release, it is coming really soon 😉

Thanks Alex 🙂
January 10, 2019 at 10:20 am #462462Gentlemen,
Just to make sure that this is the same issue or that I need to set up a different post….
I have run into a new issue though that a field that is not required, does show in the sidebar while left blank. Will the patch help with that too?
To elaborate. I have two custom fields with price in one CPT. One is price in $ other is in €. They are both not required. With a new listing I have filled out a price in Euro, and left the Dollar one blank. When I update the listing, 0.00 is automatically added to the Dollar Price Custom Field. As a result, it shows a price of zero dollars in the Details page Sidebar. Same issue as the one I started out with, or new one?
January 10, 2019 at 5:59 pm #462552If you don’t want the zero to show then use a text field with the setting for CHARACTER instead of number. Different issue.
January 11, 2019 at 6:32 am #462688Alex, thanks.
But if it is a text can it be searched for, or sorted on? I would not think so.
I think that if a field is blank, it should not be populated automatically.
January 11, 2019 at 6:49 am #462690I will start a new thread.
January 11, 2019 at 2:51 pm #462725It is not blank, the default value is 0
