Hi Guys,
We’ve recently installed GeoDirectory framework and most of the additional plugins. Since doing so, we’re continuously hitting the CPU Useage limit. The limits have been increased on the hosting account and they have suggested that it is the plugins…“there is something wrong in your design causing this.. perhaps the theme or a loop on a plugin?”
Can you give any suggestions.., as it’s seriously slowing down the site update process.
Cheers
Louise

I have not experienced this, what access can you give me to check? Do you have something like WHM installed?
Thanks,
Stiofan

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I’m not sure re: WHM. I will send through log in details.

even the wp-login.php page takes literally forever to load. What kind of server is it? A shared hosting?
Have you tried switching to a default theme and disable all plugin to see if there is a substantial difference?
Our plugin doesn’t create any infinite loop (unless you are using an old version that had a bug). Are you using the latest version?
Let us kknow,
July 11, 2014 at 9:13 pm #8241Yeah – it’s super slow to say the least! It is shared hosting but they’ve increased the limits while we make the site updates.
The framework and plugins were downloaded a couple of weeks ago, so I presume that’s the latest version. It was also updated today.
I’ll have a go at disabling the plugins and see what happens with that. Fingers crossed…
July 11, 2014 at 11:19 pm #8250GeoDirectory is optimized towork on shared hosting too.
Unfortunately in some shared plans your website is hosted with thousands of website on a single machine.
We do our best, but we can’t do miracles… 🙂
July 12, 2014 at 2:36 am #8257I notice on localhost (Windows machine) that clicking on the “Plugins” link from admin seems to take a long time to load after all the GD plugins have been installed?
I just got this error…
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:xampphtdocsgdtestsitewp-includesclass-http.php on line 1438
I had task manager running at the time and didn’t notice any serious peaks in cpu or memory usage.
July 15, 2014 at 5:05 pm #8529Hi Guys,
We’re still having major issues doing any developments using the framework and the plugins. The CPU limits are no longer an issue. Yesterday I disabled the autocompleter (following purpleedge’s observations) that improved the load time a little. The other plugins are all in use so these haven’t been disabled.
Today however, the site has seized completely – for the past 2.5hrs it’s successfully loaded approximately 3 pages. Please can you offer some suggestions ASAP as at this rate we’re going to have delete all of the GD files and attempt to return the site to its previous state. We’re adamant that GD is a fantastic way forward and looks brilliant and will be perfect for this site but we just can’t get it moving at the moment. Please wave a magic wand…

Thanks for getting back to me. The server support are currently looking into it too. I will add you on Skype and if possible hopefully we can talk tomorrow afternoon.
I’m glad the front page opened quickly for you. It’s actually working through the wp-admin that’s causing the issues for us at the moment.
