cross between LinkedIn and Yelp

    I would like to build a directory that could be described as a cross between LinkedIn and Yelp. I want users to be able to create personal profiles that give a lot of details about their professional lives and also allows them to create profiles of businesses they own or manage.

    Will WPGeodirectory work for this and which addons would you recommend? Would you use Buddypress? Would you recommend making the expanded user profiles part of the normal user profile or a separate post type?

    Hi,

    If you want user to create extended profiles, I think BuddyPress at the moment is the only solution you have. We are building something that will provide a members directory and extended profile, but we are still few weeks (if not months) from having something released.
