Hi
I have updated the categories using the template provided, the categories are all over.
Parent types are missing, categories are listed in the parent option type. What can i do to correct this?
there are 33 of your pages of this.
Its as if the information has been jumbled up.
Please advise.
AndreaFebruary 5, 2019 at 7:13 pm #467261Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your reply. You’ll have to remove those that are not configured correctly manually. Then, use the “Update item if item with cat_id/cat_slug already exists.” option as shown in the screenshot to replace the existing categories when you reupload it.

AndreaFebruary 6, 2019 at 9:52 am #467382Hi
I have chatted with WP support and they have advised that WP does not support CSV uploads. To assist they recommend the below.Woo commerce CSVs are compatible but GD isnt listed.
Here are some details on what you can import directly through the WordPress.com import tools: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/If you are looking to upload CSV files, I would suggust this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-ultimate-csv-importer/
will this plugin benefit this process or not?
Thanks
AndreaFebruary 6, 2019 at 5:19 pm #467439Yes, you can include new categories in the CSV.
About uploading the CSV file, There is a bug in WordPress. Install this plugin so you can upload the CSV file.
February 6, 2019 at 6:14 pm #467461Hi
Thank you Alex. None of the parent categories have come through.
If i delete all imported and start again. Then upload csv with parents and no categories to then upload categories matching the parents will that work. I
have provided csv in previous communication if that helps. Let me know your thoughts.
ThanksFebruary 6, 2019 at 6:30 pm #467465I do not see the CSV file, can you reupload please?
thanks

Does your CSV match the same format?February 6, 2019 at 7:52 pm #467484This reply has been marked as private.February 6, 2019 at 7:55 pm #467486This reply has been marked as private.February 6, 2019 at 7:59 pm #467489yes matches same format csv Comma delimited
February 6, 2019 at 8:43 pm #467495OK, so you can see there are differences.
I recommend you merge your data into the file you downloaded. Preserve the Cat ID for existing categories but make changes as you see fit. You don’t want there to be duplicates with the same name, so you would remove the new one.The column structure for import is very important. If you want to import they structure has to match exactly.
Let us know how it goes
