Is there any way to make the post_region (and others) non mandatory?
I have thousands of records to import, none of them having all of the mandatory values set.

I would like to initialise the database and have people update/fix their own entries, if possible.

I can only think of entering a default for these values, as an override, but it’s not ideal.

Hi Martin, your suggestion is the only way to do it.
Every listing needs an address, so every listing needs those fields.

    Thanks Guust.

Is there a way I can mark the post_category with some sort of identifier so that entries are present in the listings, but not shown on the map?

I defaulted the lat / lon to zeros and obviously, I now have place markers in the sea, which doesn’t look very nice at all.

That is not possible, you can either hide them all together or not at all (including the map location).

Can I import them all with default flags and then run some sql to set all those with a default flag to draft status?

At least that way they would all be available for edit within the system.

Why not do a bulk edit in your WP admin after you imported them, and set to draft?

You might be able to add a column after post_title column called post_status with either publish or draft.
Let’s ask Stiofan if that is possible.
