Do you know you can add default images in several locations?

I tried to upload 6,500 records with a file zize of 3.8Mb and it hung after c. 1,000 imported records with a message saying, ‘Not a valid CSV file.

Batches of 1,000 records with a file size of 0.5Mb – takes 1 hour to complete import.

Bearing in mind I have 74,000 records – 74 hours – not including data prep in LibreOffice.

    Under GD>Design>Listings>Upload listing no image
OR you can do it per category, edit a category and add a “Default Listing Image”.

    Hi Al,

WordPress imports are known to be slow, if you understand why then you will know it will never be as fast as an export. We are going to be releasing lots of updates this week and after that i will make it a priority to look at.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

What i would do would depend on many things like the number of listings on the site, the number of listings to be imported, the amount of visitors currently to the site (if live), the current server specs, the server response time, the number of plugins active and the types.

For example if you have things like buddypress or bbpress etc active each time you post or edit a post they run their own checks which are usually unnecessary. It’s hard to answer how i would do things without knowing the whole situation.
