    Hi
I have just tried to add another parent category and it hasn’t acknowledged as a parent. Please see conversations of this problem previous. https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/categories-icon-and-default-image/#post-470190

I have attached the csv upload. CSV files are not a friend to GD v2.

I lost days when setting this up with this problem. Can you not set up an option when creating a category to create a parent too without the use of CSVs?

Let me know what to do please.

I am not sure I understand.
In the backend, you create a parent category first, then you can create sub-categories.
I tried your CSV file and it creates a category without any problem on my test site.
I checked your site and the category is created as a (parent) category, see image 1.

You do get the option when creating a new category to select a parent.
If you do NOT select a parent, then the new category will automatically be a parent.
The first image is where you would choose a parent when adding a new category in the backend.
The second image is how to upload a parent and a child using CSV.

That is what I have done if you look at the csv. Only a category no parent.

I have just go to manually add a type of Landlord and the parent option is now there. It must take a while to come through. half an hour.

    ok, thanks

A category IS a parent category unless you make it a child category, I already posted the image about an hour ago:

So if it took a while to show up anywhere else, it may be because of some caching or because you have a lot of categories.
