    Hi,

    I read

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/custom-fields-and-csv-importing/

Unfortunately, it is still am not clear where import fields must be placed.

    Please – see image attached.

I have approx. 15 custom fields under gd_places – I checked the database for the field name.

I added the field geodir_faxnumber at the far right of my csv file but it didn’t import?

Please can you advise me what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks

    Al

    Hi,

this is what i normally do instead of adding columns myself to the CSV files. I add the custom field value on 1 listing from the back end, then export listings.

The custom field will be there and you’ll be able to see how the value is formatted too.

Let us know how it goes this way.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Cocerned.

I have imported data as per the procedure and there are gaps in my data.

I have exported the data, edited the export, reimported the edited file and I still have gaps in my data?

    Just ran the GD Tools.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Al

    Hi,

I am sitting manually editing listings that have not imported correctly.

Just read https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/ – see image attached.

Very frustrating that data that has been anywhere near excel won’t import cleanly.

Almost impossible to avoid the common excel file format.

Short of keying every character manually into OpenOffice Calc how can I get round this?

At the moment I am working with 10’s of listings but shortly 1 will be importing thoudands of listings.

    Please can you advise/help?

    Thx

    Al

    Hi Paolo,

Having imported data I have noted also that the Autocompleter on ‘Search’ doesn’t appear to be working.

    Please could you advise?

    Thanks a million.
