Hi
I have created an extra field on the listing form to multiselect the days of the week (monday, tuesday, etc) . And I use it as a filter on the advance search. So when customer clicks on “customise search” they can select the days of the week.It works fine without the booster but with the booster plugin does not work at all. Nothing happens when I select any day of the week?

February 13, 2015 at 9:42 pm #30859Quick question about this filters. How many listings is it able to handle without taking a long time to load results. Imagine I put 1000 listings ,would that be too heavy ?
Regards
February 14, 2015 at 4:23 pm #30910Do you mean presenting 1000 results in a search page? Or having 1000 total listings in the directory?
GD, depending on the server, should be able to handle millions of listings. The only “weak” part that could choke with that many listings is the home page map. Starting from next week Stiofan will spend few days improving that part too, trying to implement server side clustering.
In case you are asking to provide search result pages with 1000 results though, I think that would be a bad idea. It would be slow and I would never go over 20 results per page in any case. In my directories I stick to 10 results per page.
Let us know if this answer your question.
Thanks
February 16, 2015 at 6:22 pm #31085Hi
thanks for the reply. The reason I was asking is because I want to use this custom filters but I am not sure whether they are faster than searching by categories.
So based on what you say I will limited to 10 lists per page and just 20 pages. That will just be 200 listings. Hopefully it will be ok and if not we will cross that bridge when we come to it 🙂 What I remember is that in geotheme searching by postcode when I got 1000 listing was just impossible .The search would be too slow and always time out.But that is history as well!Anyway I am sure it will be ok!
Thanks
February 16, 2015 at 6:32 pm #31091So based on what you say I will limited to 10 lists per page and just 20 pages
I didn’t say that at all. You can have thousands of listings, but they should be paginated wisely. This is what I said.
Thx
