    The category selection in places was at first a dropdown list where you could additionally select which category was the default category. (see image004)

    But now we see it as checkboxes and the feature of selecting the default category is no longer available. (see image001)

    Is there to change this back to the dropdown list with default category selection ?

    Have a look at GD > Place Settings > Custom field tab > Categories field > and set to “Ajax Chained”.
