default image for places

    i noticed the default image for place categories.

    my question is:

    i have old places without any featured image.

    if in place category edit setting i add a default image, that image will be auto applied to old places without any photo … or i have to add it manually on places without image ?

    Yes, if you add it to the matched category, then it will show on those listings that do not yet have an image with the matching default category.

    you mean even on old places that did not have a photo before ? it will auto-update with an image?

    It does not add the image to the listing, per se. Instead it uses the image when needed in listings, on the map, and on the detail page.
