    Hello
I am building a directory for my home town for home buyers. I am using the supreme directory theme and all of the GD add ons. On the front page upper section, the default is the search bar and the popular categories. The goal is that “Realtors” is one of those categories. I would like users to click on Realtors and be taken to a different page that allows them to see the Realtor categories like Condo Sales, Luxury Sales, etc. Each Realtor will be in 2 or 3 categories. Is this possible?
    Thank you

    Hi Joe,

You could use the CPT Categories widget on the details page top section to show the sub cats.

That does work but they would have to get to the detail page first. My hope is that I can have them click on Realtors and then end up on a Realtor page with all of the Realtor categories. It would be awsesome if it could maintain the Supreme Directory front page look

From the front page, if they click on Realtors, I need a way to show just the Realtor sub categories and not all the others. I am sure its simple but I cant get my brain around it.

I am guessing that Realtors is a Custom Post Type and not a category?
I am also guessing you just want a link to /places/
Have a look at this post, it should help you adding a link there: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-remove-the-popular-categories-section-from-the-home-page/

Please ignore if I misunderstood the question 🙂

    Thank you Guust
Actually there is no structure in place now. The hope is that on the main page, they can click on Realtors. Since there will be 5 or 6 types of Realtors, the idea is that after clicking Realtors, they get offered the type of Realtors to choose from and then can select one of those sub categories. I hope I am explaining that correctly.

It is not possible to change one search result to go to a different page.

You might consider excluding realtors from the search, and instead using the category select in search for the type of building.

You can also use a different “Front Page” for WordPress that is not the GD Home page. On the WP front/home page, then, you could put in your own html with other plugin helpers to make a list of link to each of the realtor categories listing pages.

If you have 5 types of realtors, then I guess they are categories.
If you have categories, you must be having a custom post type, probably just called Places at the time, but you can rename that to Realtors.
Any page with the Popular Post widget will allow your visitors to select a type/category of realtor. So all you need to do is create a link to that page.
Normally that is the /places/ page where you add the Popular Post widget.

I may still be understanding incorrectly, but why not just use the Popular Post widget on the homepage, rather than them first needing to go to a different page.

    Thanks
