Disable Expiry Reset on Listing Claim

Is it possible to disable the expiry reset that occurs when a listing is claimed? We are using WPGeoDirectory for a client that is a community association with businesses who have paid for memberships. We want the businesses to claim their listing in the new system, but we’ve already put them on a plan with set expiration. Once they claim the listing, the expiry resets to a year from the date of claim and asks them to pay. We want the listing to run out the existing expiry before asking for a renewal.
