Disable rating but NOT comments

    Hi,

    Great plugin!

    Is it possible to just leave a comment(review) to a listing, without giving it a star rating?

    It’s easy to hide the stars with CSS, but I can’t post a comment without: Please select star rating, you can’t leave a review without stars.

    Okay, found the setting Disable review stars for CPT – that works. But now everything is in english, and I need it to be danish. Where do I find the strings for Leave a comment etc. ? Can’t find it in any GeoDirectory po files.

    That would be in the WordPress language files.

    I can see that if you turn off the Stars on a CPT, the strings used on the detail page reverts to the WP language strings, not the GD language strings. Example: “leave a review” changes to “leave a comment”.
    I’ll check with the developers if that is as intended.

    Yes it is the intended functionality. You can also disable the stars being manditory if using the review rating addon, maybe that would suit you better?

    Could you please point me in a direction of where to find those wp strings ? I’ve looked everywhere and googled for hours….sigh…I know it’s not really a GD question now – but you clearly understand the structure better than I do. Help would be sooo appreciated!

    If your site is set to use any other language than the default en_US (American English) language, you should find the following file: /wp-content/languages/dk_DK.po or relevant other language file like nl_BE.po etc.l find the following file: /wp-content/languages/fr_FR.po or relevant other language file like

    That is your WP language file, and you should find “Leave a Comment” in that file.

    Okay. New problem: When I disable the star rating the Owner badge dissapears. It only works with ratings – and not with comments…hmmm… That must be a bug in the Claim Listing Addon… Is there a work around? I dont’ need star ratings – I need comments. And I need verified owners to have a badge…

    Nope, still doesnt work 🙁 Only works with enabled star ratings.

    Yes, that part is right. But it’s not displaying in the comments. When the owner comments, there will be a note next to the name, that says OWNER (or in my case UDLEJER) I does so when stars are enabled.

    Another thing is, that it’s looks like the approved owner can edit info in the listing. It’s shows up under My Listings in control panel. Is there a way to prevent this. I’d like verified owner to have the option to comment (with a badge) and nothing more. I know I’m being difficult here. It’s just that I really like the plugin, so I don’t wanna switch to something else…

    If you just want owners to be able to comment and nothing more then there are two thnigs to do:
    #1 GD>Design>Detail>Disable User Links section
    #2 GD>Design>Navigation>Allow post type to add from frontend> DISABLE ALL and no one will be able to add or edit listings.

    Owners can reply to comments already?
