disable tags from search completely

hello!

on our site at https://pharmacyflujabs.co.uk/ we have added dropdown select for category type in the main search bar, which is nice

can we completely disable the tags search field, which has the text “Search for”?

it would also be nice to remove any mention of tags anywhere else in the site, e.g. during “add listing” page or search results

To remove tags from the add listing page, use the Pricing Manager and set tags allowed to zero.

The “Search For” field is not only for tags, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#search
So if there are no tags on your listings, it will not search tags.

If you just want a category selector and not really a search function, you could use the Popular Categories widget or CPT Categories widget.
