I am setting up a trial of a Premium package but want to set it to downgrade to a free listing at the end of the trial. Both the Premium package trial and the free package are active. However, when I try to set the trial package to downgrade to the free listing, the option of selecting this does not appear?

The package that you downgrade to cannot be recurring. Try changing the package to non-recurring and it should show up in the downgrade options.

Recurring packages require a gateway and the user has to authorize the subscription so it can’t be done automatically.

Thanks, that seems to work. I notice that there is an option for the customer to upgrade? How does that work? Do I have to do anything, or does the software offer an upgrade inside the user’s dashboard?

If you mark the package as having upgrades, then the user will be shown the package list so they can choose an upgrade when they click upgrade to edit the listing. That is all hands-off, yes.
