Duplicate Listing Issue

    Hi All,

    In some instances, when I add a new listing, it would generate a duplicate listing without a profile picture. This happens whenever we encounter a server/connection error and I refresh the page. Any tips on how we can avoid this issue?

    Also – does anyone have tips on implementing a picture cropping/adjustment feature? Some of the images that are uploaded are randomly cutoff.

    Hi,

    you should never encounter a server/connection error. Once you solve that, the problem will disappear.

    Check with your hosting provider why you are getting such errors.

    GeoDirectory doesn’t crop images. The thumbnails use the “cover” background-size CSS rule. If you change that to contain, it will show it all, but could leave blank spaces depending on the picture format.

    Hi Paolo,

    my URL is http://www.telehealthfinder.com

    I just reached out to HostGator and they mentioned that it’s related to the permalinks and asked that I try to individually go and deactivate the plugins to see if that helped. Seeing as how the site is essentially useless without all the plugins, I’m wondering if you have encounter this issue before?

    The odd thing is, the submission is recognized by the server because when i encounter the 500 error and I click return, the listing is successfully posted. Likewise – if I hit refresh I’d get a duplicate listing. This is only happening when i am uploading/updating a listing.

    I also tried to deactivet akismet and jetpack to no avail.

    Thoughts?

    Also – I just did a bit more troubleshooting – it seems to only be showing the 500 error when a new image upload is included. Otherwise no issues…

    Hi,

    we can’t recreate this in any of our websites, nor any other member reported anything like that. I would suggest to stay away from cheap shared hosting providers like hostgator.
