Hi, on my site with SSL if I have Easy Updates active I get very slow load times on the Plugins and Updates pages. It usually takes 17 – 23 seconds for these two pages to load. The pages load normally without Easy Updates activated.

The issue may have to do with the HTTP API requests (see attached photo). It shows 35 HTTP API requests with a total time of 16.06s. All of the Ayecode/GD URL’s have an error message in red saying ‘Certificate verification disabled (sslverify=false)’.

I did some further testing and wasn’t able to find any plugin or theme conflicts. I also have a non-SSL site hosted alongside this one with the same theme and plugins (including Easy Updates) and I don’t get this behavior.

    Thanks.

WP Easy updates can be disabled until you are ready to update your plugins again, but you may miss update notifications.

    Hi Matt,

no you shouldn’t disable WP Easy Updates as wrongly suggested. That plugin has been developed especially to speed up the plugins and updates pages of WordPress and it shouldn’t behave like that.

I flagged your request for a developer who will look into your problem as soon as possible.

Please provide wp admin and FTP credentials and we will follow up.

    Thanks

    Hi Matt,

WPEU was still sending single requests for UsersWP and not a single array of requests, i have fixed this now and released a update for WPEU.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the info, let me explain what i think is going on here.

The updates page pretty much always fires the update check so that is expected.
The plugins page should only periodically check.
The elementor addons plugin seems to be resetting the check time so it keeps firing on the plugins page too.
We need to fire our checks everytime the core check runs otherwise our updates would be lost between refreshes.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Enhanced Media Library PRO seems to make it call twice, this is an actual WP bug but we have a workaround to that should make it only call once.

The running on every plugin page load should not happen, but i can’t recreate on any of my sites so i assume another plugin is blanking the last update time.
