Hi,
Two months ago I used the file “place_listing.csv” (I add it in this post) for to test a bulk import of listings.
All listing was showed in the following page:
https://infocity.website/restaurantesybares
If I remember well, all was perfect. Listing was showed and also pictures. All was OK.
Yesterday I had a look in the same page:
https://infocity.website/restaurantesybares
and pictures are not showed…
If I go to some pictures like the following:
532224_340506606024160_884467548_n.jpg https://infocity.website/wp-admin/upload.php?item=202
21075_255058816944_2927166_n.jpg https://infocity.website/wp-admin/upload.php?item=199
I can see that pictures are broken… I don not know why…
So, I have done a tests. I have deleted others 2 broken pictures and I have reuploaded it. For example I have reupload the following pictures:
72352_124712057689563_1146685717_n.jpg
165981_180090768786924_103915550_n.jpg
For the pictures, I have used the same “file name” used in the file “place_listing.csv”.
But the listing:
LISTING 1: https://infocity.website/restaurantesybares/spain/catalunya/girona/todos-los-restaurantes-y-bares/dolce-vita-pizzeries/
LISTING 2: https://infocity.website/restaurantesybares/spain/catalunya/girona/todos-los-restaurantes-y-bares/largada-restaurant-braseria/
continue without showing the images…
After that I have deleted LISTING 1 and the picture annexe (72352_124712057689563_1146685717_n.jpg). I have reuploaded a csv only with the LISTING 1 and in the MEDIA SECTION is showed a file without picture and with the name: 72352_124712057689563_1146685717_n.jpg
If I upload the picture 72352_124712057689563_1146685717_n.jpg in the media section, I will have 2 files with the same name…
I don not know what happen… The unique change I have had one month ago was was to convert my web from http to https. I do not know if the problem is that.So I have 2 problems:
1. If I delete broken pictures, and reupload they, pictures are not recognized from the existents listings…
(you can see that in the following listing:
https://infocity.website/restaurantesybares/spain/catalunya/girona/todos-los-restaurantes-y-bares/largada-restaurant-braseria/)
Of course, I can delete the 10 existents listing I have at this time, and I can reupload them, and after that I can If I delereupload the images. I can resolve this problem easily…But Id like understand the origen of this problem because the next month I will go to upload thousend and thousend listings. So I do not want have this problem with thousends and thousends listing, and Id like understand what happen now in my web.2. If I delete one listing and the picture annexe, after reupload the listing and the image, in the MEDIA SECTION will be showed 2 differents files with the same name. Why?
I hope your answer. Thanks for your support.

Before we proceed further with the investigation, I’d like you to know that broken image URLs are usually a server related issue. Have you checked with your hosting provider? Also, are you using any other “Image Optimization Tool” plugins previously or some sort of CDN such as Cloudflare that might be causing the issue? Go through this and let us know how it went and we’ll see if we can possibly help you further.
Thanks!
December 21, 2016 at 5:23 pm #328417Hi,
re-uploading the image would work only if you upload it via FTP in the correct media folder (month/year).
Otherwise you should re-upload it via the listing edit form, not the media uploader.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
December 21, 2016 at 7:29 pm #328461Hi @paolo and @korchung,
Paolo are right. If I upload pictures via FTP in the correct media folder (month/year), pictures will be showed in listings pages.
Two months ago I uploaded pictures using a plugin in order to make the pictures with a special categorie. I forget that I need upload pictures from http://FTP... So, the most problable is that the error is generated from this plugin…
Now, Id like understand if all run well in my web:
CASE 1: If I upload in first time the csv, in the media section will be showed the pictures with a gray icon. If after csv I upload the pictures from FTP, in the media section the gray icon will remain in gray (I add picture 1).
CASE 2: If I upload in first time the picture from FTP, in the media section will not be showed the pictures. If after picture I upload the csv, in the media section the picture will be showed with preview (I add picture 2).
So, my QUESTION 1 is the following:
Is it that a normal behavior? In your documentation (https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/) you suggest to do the following:
First: import csv
Second: upload pictures from FTPSo, my QUESTION 2 is the following:
If I invert them, and I do the following:
First: upload pictures from FTP
Second: import csv
Do I will have problems?
If this is no a problem, why do you suggest a solution that can not show “PREVIEW” in media section. To have a PREVIEW in media section is better than to have a gray icon.Let me know.
Thanks for your support.December 21, 2016 at 8:23 pm #328484one way or the other, both will work.
In your pciture 1, you are still seeing the grey icon after uploading via FTP because of the browser cache, if you do a deep refresh of the page (ctrl F5), the image will show.
Thanks
