Hello. I have the need to revisit Event listing’s dates. I have been away from the event sites for sometime now and have re-started to work the site.

The events are all expired except for the recurring events.

I find myself having to “filter” through last years events and “selecting all” and trying to remember which ones are “recurring dates” so as to not delete them. (*requires good memory and now we see the problem for me…lol)

Another quite not “logical” aspect is that the “original” start date of nearly a year ago appears in the widget area giving the event a “past the stale date” appearance.

    WhatsHappeningToday.com

So, is there a fix for the recurring date.. I can fumble through the expired dates.

Hi Steve, have a look at GD > Event settings > General tab > Hide event past dates
Is that what you are looking for?

    Thanks

Hello Gusst. Yes, that box is already ticked.

Here is a question. If I set up an event to be recurring every Friday night for 48 weeks let say, as an example, and the date begins on April 28th, 2017 will the date of the event on the following Friday show as a current Event “with a corresponding actual Friday date” or … will the event “hold/keep” the April 28th date?

Because if it “hold/keep” the April 28th date, then all subsequent Friday recurring events will hold what appears to be a date/event in the past.

I hope I am getting my question across..

    Kind regards,

May I ask which event that pertained to please? And, was it by chance an event that was listed on the home page CPT or through another search.

Please excuse the link css color. I am trying to figure out how to fix…

I see. If you look at the CPT listing widget does it show the “original date” of the very first event or does it display always the current or upcoming events.

Mine shows the “original date” thus it appears to be and event in the past.

    You need to set
GD > Event settings > General tab > Default event filter >> Upcoming
