    I am having issues with the display for the Extra theme.

    Link to the staging site: https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com

    Issue #1: I ran into issues with the left and the right areas not obeying the pixel percentages in the admin settings. They seem to size based on the media that was being displayed. I had to set it in the child-theme CSS

    #left-area {
    float: left;
    width: 67%;
    }

    Issue #2: The thumb images blow out the #right-area on the details page.

    I am sure there is a better way to do this other than setting the left-area and right-area width in the child CSS.

    Let me know if you need logins to the staging site.

    I loaded the Extra_custom theme customizations and saved by the way. Also – I’m actually a paid user. Or rather, this is for a paid installation of GD.

    Sure thing. Do you need me to repost/restart this thread? Or is posting with the paid account sufficient?

    Thanks Kevin, that’s great.

    We can take a look at setting up the “Theme Compability” settings for your site:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-theme/

    Just write back with your site details in a private reply we can get those issues sorted as best as possible.

    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for your reply. I’ll try to answer your questions accordingly.

    1. I believe you are referring to this page https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com/listings/ and could you tell me a little bit more about what are you trying to achieve there?

    2. Please remove the custom CSS code below that you’ve applied earlier as it should fix the layout issue on this page https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com/listings/united-states/texas/houston/utilities-1/comcast/ . Then let me know what you’re trying to achieve and we’ll do our best to help.

    #left-area {
        float: left;
        width: 67%;
    }

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    1. Regarding: https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com/listings/

    This page is looking better. Yet the left-area doesn’t seem to stay at a 67% with which is what we have in the settings.

    2. I removed the custom CSS and while this listing improved visually, https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com/listings/united-states/texas/houston/utilities-1/comcast/

    This listing shows the issue and why we had the custom CSS in there:

    https://houstonnewcomerguides-com.webmediagroup.staging.wpengine.com/listings/united-states/texas/humble-1/health-care/memorial-hermann-northeast-hospital/

    It is as if the left-area, which I believe is the Detail Page Content Section is simply scaling for width based on the image width – which we want at 67% or else the text is crunched down below the image.

    Further, the right-area which I think is Detail Page GD Right Section expands out. We’d like that to be 33%. We have the excerpt character count for Related Posts set to 0 but that doesn’t seem to be doing anything else there either.

    Does that make sense?

    Hello Kevin,

    We have flagged this topic for the developers to take a look, and our apologies for the delay, they are very focused on V2 at the moment.

    Speaking of V2 , I would highly highly highly recommend that you try out V2 on a staging clone of your site to see if these issues are ameliorated. We have worked very hard on GDV2 to make it work with ‘any’ theme, meaning specifically that it has been redesigned to work within the theme’s page templates. I believe you can easily achieve what you are looking for with V2 without additional theme compatibility settings.

    We have worked on Extra theme compatibility before, though, so your topic is flagged and we will login and take a look at fixing the width issues.

    Hello,

    Your default theme width conflicting with the GeoDirectory pages width settings. I have applied your theme classes .et_pb_extra_column_main & .et_pb_extra_column_sidebar theme compatibility. I have also applied some more customization in theme compatibility, now it looks better.
