can a user purchase featured listing as additional & seperate cost to the cost of adding listing?

    e.g.

It cost $0 to add a listing for 30 days

It cost $20 additional dollars to make your listing featured for 30 days.

Is it possible? From what I can see so far in the geodriectory admins section, it is not. But is there a way of doing it please?

In other words, can the admin define listings cost and timeframe, and then additonally, fetaured listing add on cost and timeframe, so that end user can purchase both.

Yes, that is how the Payment Manager works.
    Create two package:
    * Free: expires after 30 days
    * Featured: $20 for 30 days and set to featured

    Thanks

Yes that is 1 way for it to work.

The other way, is the way I mean.

Where user can purchase a free listing for 30 days. Then purchase an add on feature upgrade, for example 1 day . this will not disrupt the user initial purchase of a free listing for 30 days, it will simply upgrade the initialy purchase for 1 day.

    Get it?

    it’s different no?

    In other words

If a customer uses the currently deplployed payment manager options, and upgrades to a featured package, then what happens when the featured package expires? is the custom revert back to free listing package?

See look at the attached screenshot.

The way it is set up, the listing must expire and send user back to another package. The admin is repsponsible to set which package the user will be sent back to once the featured package expires.

    The problem is

How is the admin ment to know which package the user is on??

That is the problem with the way it is set up currently.

That is why what i am saying is different.A featured listing is an add on, not a package. Is there any way for the user to purchase a featured listing as an add on?

Any listing can only be assigned one package only.
So a user cannot buy an “addon”, but can change/upgrade to a different package.
If the new package has the same settings as the previous one, plus featured, then all that changes is that the listing becomes featured.

Usually packages are incremental, and you set them to either expire or downgrade.

Is it possible to make it so the user can purchase featured listing as an add on? How would we do this?

It is not possible: “a user cannot buy an “addon”, but can change/upgrade to a different package.”
