Hi,
At the top of my WordPress theme there is a featured image on each page as part of the header. The size of this is, width=”976″ height=”313″. The featured image for a GeoDirectory entry displays in the place of this as I’d like it to however the size of the image displayed is too small. I’m not sure what controls this however the image it is using is 313px in height (conveniently matches the preset hight in the theme) however the width isn’t correct (not as large as it should be) – I’d prefer it to set the the width of the image first.
I hope that makes sense. Any help appreciated.
Thanks
MattOctober 19, 2014 at 9:37 pm #18892So if I understand you correctly, you have made some customization to your theme or the feature you describe is part of the theme.
Therefore it does not seem to be a GD issue, but a theme issue.
So the solution might be found there. What theme are you using and what is your URL. At least then we can have a look.

October 20, 2014 at 12:14 pm #18924That seems to be a question for your theme’s support:
http://catchthemes.com/themes/simple-catchOctober 20, 2014 at 4:13 pm #18948yes, not much I can add.
An alternative would be to hide the image there. It’s a bit redundant, given that you already have the same image in the gallery.
That would be much easier I guess.
Let us know,
Thx
October 20, 2014 at 5:07 pm #18961Happy to ask the theme’s support but I’m not sure how it can be the theme when other theme pages display the featured image at the correct size, it’s only the GD part that is incorrect which would suggest to me it’s the way GD calls the image.
October 20, 2014 at 5:47 pm #18964Hi again,
the image you uploaded here http://www.weltonvillage.co.uk/places/united-kingdom/lincolnshire/lincoln/welton-businesses/one-hair-beauty/ is 800px X 524px.
the image you uploaded here http://www.weltonvillage.co.uk/2014/10/15/ashing-lane-nature-reserve-nwt-october-2014-update/ is 2032px X 670px.
If you upload an image larger than 976px wide and 313px high, it will work also on that detail page, but this is definitely a theme problem.
In fact, if you use the image of the 1st listing on a regular page, you will face the exact same issue.
Thx
October 20, 2014 at 6:09 pm #18965The original image size of the picture on the GD page is 1440 × 943 however when I add it through GD it reduces the size on upload, as far as I can see you can only upload to GD and not select from the media library? This is what I’m trying to figure out, where in GD does it instruct the change image ratio?
Thanks
MattOctober 20, 2014 at 6:25 pm #18968You are right, it appear to be reducing all pictures to 800 width max.
I’ll flag this for developers as it could use the Large size of wp media settings, giving users a way to alter the resize.
However, I still think you’d be better off hiding that featured image on listing details pages.
Thx
October 20, 2014 at 6:27 pm #18969Thanks, yeah looking at it I might hide but initially was trying to keep consistency across the site.
Cheers
