I find it pretty awesome that you added Font Awesome icons as a rating options.

Though, those are a little limited. Not a Geodirectory problem but Fontawesome one. I opened a request on github for additional icons: one third star and two thirds star; for a little more accurate display.

In the mean time, if I want to stick with star images instead of FA icons, how can I have the same looks when I chose comment ratings? I like the display with “terrible, poor, average …etc” instead of “1/5, 2/5 …etc”

Just install the Multi Ratings add-on.

    Thanks

No. I don’t think I was clear, even though I put a screenshot of some sort.

If I activate my ratings to be Fontawesome Icons, when I want to add a rating, if I hover the mouse cursor on the first star I get “terrible” word in the right. When I hover the second I get “poor” word in the right … and so on.

If I activate my ratings to use the old .png star image, when I want to add a rating, if I hover the mouse cursor on the first star I get a dark box under it with “1/5”. When I hover the second I get a dark box under it with “2/5” … and so on. That’s the problem. Consistency. I would like to have replaced in the second scenario, the representation of stars( 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 5/5) with the ones from the first, Fontawesome option( terrible, poor, average, very good, excelent).

    Hi,

I repeat myself, just install and activate multiratings. That will give you the option to even change terrible, poor etc too whatever you want.

    Thanks

I just want to have terrible, poor …etc, replacing the representation for the old ratings with images, too and I guess you could add the same code from the fontawesome ratings to replace the old one from image ratings.

I don’t see the point to install another plugin to have something is already there but in only one place, not both.

Installed the plugin, and beside the fact I find it akward to use it for something that’s already there( unfortunatelly I don’t know what file I need to edit to copy myself the piece of code from fontawesome ratings to image ratings and replace the one with 1/5, 2/5 …etc), my old rating icon didn’t worked, nor the new uploaded one on ratings setting and I get the default star.

I wish I could have solved this without installing something I don’t need right now.

    Hi,

you need to change those values in the overall rating style.

    This is the only way.

    Thanks

Could you tell me at last in what file I can find the code responsible for the default ratings?

    Hi,

the bug here is that fontawesome is showing labels that belong to the multiratings and reviews add-on.

From next version, if multiratings and reviews add-on is not installed, fontawesome stars will be showing 1/5, 2/5 etc just like it should.

The only way to do what you want to do, is to install the add-on. It’s useless that I give you the location of the code, because if you modify it, you’ll lose your changes after every update.

    Thanks

Ok, so it’s just a bug. Well, if I won’t get that without installing the addon, at last if I stick with img stars and switch later – when probably Fontawesome would get more starst(one third, a quarter … etc) eventually, my users won’t be confused.

Would be nice though if 1/5, 2/5 …etc, stuff, would appear in the right of the stars too, looks cleaner than that darker box under the stars.

About the ratings addon, despite the another plugin thing for a lot of features I don’t quite need right now, I wanted to have a little less text in front of the rating, not “Rate this Location (overall):”. Since location word is translated independently( here, on location tags, location categories) I can’t change the whole thing via translation with something like “Rate this( overall)” or “Rating( overall).
