I have a few issues here.
1. I purchased and installed the Multilocation as you suggested. That worked, however, it will not let me update the plugin. When I try to update, I get this error, “Login details for GeoDirectory failed! Please check GeoDirectory>Auto Updates and that your membership is active. Internal Server Error”. I see where I can add my username and password, but which? The U and P for this site or the U and P for ThemeTailors? Neither is working for me.
2. How can I update my password for THIS site? I am not getting any email notifications on these support questions.
3. I am using the GD Popular Post view widget but it is only showing the image and the title. I also want to show an excerpt in addition to the title. How do I do that? Basically, I want to show the title and then show about two lines from the Profile section of the actual listing (or wherever else). I will use this to show the discount the listing is offering. E.g.,
FATHOM REALTY
20% rebate for closing costsHere’s a screenshot of what it looks like now – http://cl.ly/image/0Q3b1f3g1n0Y
February 25, 2015 at 11:03 am #320051. See http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/buying-addons-and-support/
2. Go to your profile, and click “edit”.
3. Set “Post Content excerpt character count :” in the Popular Post widget.

The very first version I downloaded was already out of date. As soon as I installed it, it said there was a new version available and yet, now I can’t download it.
2. I had already tried to “edit” but it is not saving my new email.
3. It is set to 30 but nothing shows up.I’m a little disappointed in the membership idea, especially at that price. You may get a lot more users if your pricing was reasonable. I know I would pay if it was $50 per year but anything more and it just doesn’t make sense when there are so many other great options out there.
February 25, 2015 at 7:40 pm #32062Hi Josh,
1) your accounts are not synced and the account used here didn’t have the same email address used to buy on Theme Tailors. I’ll try to better explain this process both here and on TT.
2) Because of the Theme tailors syncing we don’t allow to change email, or the autoupdate would fail. I’ve change it manually for you to the email used to purchase. If you now sync autoupdates should work.
3) As you can see in our demo http://wpgeo.directory/ excerpt are working as expected. To see why they are not working on your website, we would need to have a look at the website and dashboard. Please provide url and wp admin credentials in a private reply.
As far as reasonable price. In the last 10 months we release over 20 between addons and themes and we don’t intend to stop. We don’t impose limits on website that can be built with them and IMHO (but I’m biased), no other solution is as features rich. I think our price is a bargain…
Thanks

I am using widgets and chose the 4 column grid view http://staging.hometownheroes.com/business-savings/
February 25, 2015 at 8:27 pm #32071The reason I am not using that location page is because I do not like how it looks as it does not blend in with my theme. If I could remove some of the headers, make the map full width, and set up the listings as a grid view then I may think otherwise
February 25, 2015 at 10:09 pm #32088On the location page, I have the map figured out and removed the headers. However, the 4 column grid still does not display the content, no matter mow many characters I choose.
February 25, 2015 at 10:17 pm #32092hi again,
the excerpt of widgets for layout consistency is based on character count.
You should really use custom fields for something like that though, rather than placing that info in the content.
Check here for an example: http://wpgeo.directory/restaurants/
The black 50% icon is for discount. The custom fields system in addition allows you to add a fontawesome icon to each custom field.
Custom fields can also be used as extra filters as advance search filters, in case you decide to get that addon too.
Let me know if this can help.
Thx
February 25, 2015 at 10:26 pm #32093Do you have documentation showing how to use custom fields?
February 25, 2015 at 10:33 pm #32097It’s not 100% complete, but you can find many info here: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-place-settings/
If anything isn’t clear, feel free to ask.
Thx
February 25, 2015 at 10:35 pm #32098Thank you, I will read it. Were you able to figure out why the 2 column grid shows the excerpt but not the 3 or 4 column grid?
February 25, 2015 at 11:07 pm #32107oops, that was the link I meant to paste at the very beginning, instead I posted the link to the syncing twice:
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-place-settings/#custom
will show you how to add the custom fields to your listings page.Add this to your CSS to show excerpts in all grid layouts:
.geodir_category_list_view li.geodir-gridview .geodir-content .geodir-entry-content { display: inline; }
Excerpts are hidden by default except for list view and grid2, because usually it gets to busy. It is different if you do not use a sidebar.
