Hi!

Was wondering what the best approach would be to introduce our new directory website to a business community to allow them to sign up for free for the first year and then start charging them beginning in the 2nd year…(without having Russian and Chinese spammers create fake listings)…?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your post. You can achieve this using the “Pricing Manager” to create packages that would allow “Offering Trials” for one year. Then, use the “Google Recaptcha” addon to protect your Website from spammers.

Hi Kor,

Thank you for explaining how to do this. One other question related to this process…when the user registers and signs up for the free one year trial, are they required to enter in their PayPal payment email/info at the time of registration or will they do that once the free year is over…?

If you want them to sign up for a subscription, then yes they must enter their information at the time of sign up and confirm the subscription through PayPal.

Of Note, Paypal trials must be free. We are working on paid trials for a future version.
