Hi,
I have just joined GD a couple of days ago and I am in the process of understanding everything!
Here’s the problem I have. I had set a default location for testing and then I’ve changed it to the one I need.
The problem is that the map in the frontend won’t move the marker to the updated location.
I have been reading all docs the last days, but I didn’t find a way to fix it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

A default location does not have a marker, only listings do.
So only changing the address of a listing will move markers.Always post a URL and possibly WP admin details if you need some help, it makes support possible. You can always do that in a private message.

What I guess has happened is that the address fields have changed, but the maps geo coordinates have not.
There is no error here. Settle on a default location, and once set, forget about it. If you really want to change the location of the dummy places, then delete them, and add new ones. OR edit the listing and click Set on Map to change the coordinates.
The login details you gave are not of an administrator account, so they do not work for us.

OR edit the listing and click Set on Map to change the coordinates.November 22, 2014 at 1:13 am #22251I made sure that when I updated the location the coordinates were updated too.
You say that is not important. So how do I change the marker in the map for the Home page? It is important when you have a directory for City1 not to show City2 in the map.
I have upgraded your account so you can check. Sorry about that.

None of the coordinates of the places have changed just because you have changed the default location, only the fake addresses have changed.
Only the coordinates of the default location were changed, but that location itself is not shown on the map; only places/listings are.If you want the dummy places to change coordinates, you have to go to each of these places, click SET ON MAP to update the coordinates.
I have done that for one, and you can see the result of that on your homepageNobody will now be able to add any places outside your new default location, but if you want the places coordinates to change, you have to do that yourself.
There is no marker for the home page or for a location. There are only markers for listings, and as soon you changed all the coordinates one by one, they will not move on the map. So your map will keep displaying listings you added with “old” coordinates.
December 12, 2014 at 2:49 pm #24188New to the directory as well. Just wanted to comment that it would be great to have the frontend map change based on the default location. It took me forever to realize I had to update the dummy listings to change the map.

The dummy sites are just to give you a start to see how things work. They are completely fake listings.
In a live site, it would be totally unwanted to change the locations of real listings if you change the default location. -
