Hi there,
Congratulations on such a fantastic plugin!
We are implementing GD with the Buddyboss onesocial theme – most problems we see we can tweak and fix, however we have a big problem with the full view of a listing:
You can see the images added to the listing get displayed in full size across the top of the page https://www.evernote.com/l/AAJJLKXrq8dOLZumFOolEoYeGM2MI2hztn8
So we would #1 like to fix this of course – I’ve looked at settings and can’t see anything – could you advise on how to fix this please?
Second issue – on the map https://www.lifeishealthyfood.com/directory/ you can see https://www.evernote.com/l/AAJI292Me85FYqrwcv9SKaXG-RIfNvPWH9A the category icon is displaying and not the map marker – how do we change it so the map markers appear on the map instead?
Third question – once the image problem is fixed we would like to emulate the good looking image display you have in Whoop https://www.evernote.com/l/AAKJWBtckqFDo4z5FoILDeGzKoENzQ5Qme4 – if you could provide any direction that would be appreciated.
However, right now problem #1 is more important 🙂
Many thanks, Steve
August 11, 2017 at 6:32 am #390656Hi Steven,
#1 Could you tell us what are you trying to do to the top image? Remove it? Resize it? or Reduce the height of the container?
#2 The “Category Icon” is the “Map Marker”, that’s how GD works 🙂
#3 Do you mean you want to change the current slider http://dev-evergent.sites.405group.com/about-our-company/ to look like the slider from Whoop theme?
Thanks!

In the example page I give there are 2 big images – they should not be there at all! 🙂 So remove them is the short answer.
I was hoping to see images in this page in a similar format to say https://wpgeo.directory/gdf-modern/places/united-states/pennsylvania/philadelphia/hotels/alexander-inn/ i.e. there are NO big images like we have on our page, they should be inside a slider like this https://www.evernote.com/l/AAKSHo4GoCnK_RAn9kQm5-vPHjeXOo9Ro
> #2 The “Category Icon” is the “Map Marker”, that’s how GD works 🙂
Ah ok, so we need to upload marker icons… got it. What is the recommended size then – I see other forum posts where people say to use up to 800x800px, but if you do the icon is massive on the map…
> #3 Do you mean you want to change the current slider http://dev-evergent.sites.405group.com/about-our-company/ to look like the slider from Whoop theme?
Yes. Like I say above, a basic (but boring looking page image layout) is https://www.evernote.com/l/AAKSHo4Go0FCnK_RAn9kQm5-vPHjeXOo9Ro – but it is OK to show people – but the image slider on Whoop theme works very well.
Thanks for your help!
Kind regards, Steve.
August 11, 2017 at 1:40 pm #390723Hi Steven,
Let me try to answer your remaining questions.
#1 You can use the custom CSS code below to remove it. Insert into GD > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS
.entry-post-thumbnail { display: none!important; }
#2 Check out this URL to find more icons for your directory https://mapicons.mapsmarker.com/category/markers/stores/apparel/
#3 Unfortunately, that would require complex customization and I hope you understand.
Thanks!
August 14, 2017 at 4:36 am #391016Great, thanks for the useful info.
For what its worth, seems difficult to get the map markers looking good… am trying different combo’s, but it doesnt seem retina friendly – uploading good quality PNGs it still seems to create fuzzy looking icons…
Is there any secret to good looking markers? Not being able to use SVGs or a font is making the design look a bit dated…
Thanks, Steve
August 14, 2017 at 6:27 am #391023Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. Well, this question has never been asked before. Usually, map markers are created using png’s or jpeg’s so there isn’t any request for SVG’s. Anyway, have you checked out the links I’ve shared earlier? You should notice that Map markers are usually in a small size and resolution doesn’t really matter. Also, it really depends on your design skills and the software that you’re using to create it and there isn’t any secret to good looking markers. Let us know how it goes.
