GD is not importing my data at all. I purchased GD Framework plus addons days ago via Theme Tailors:)

I read the https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/ several times and used OpenOffice to create the csv. I have 78 rows (records) but the import says I hve 135 rows (see below). My default location is USA and all data is from the USA only until I get money for the multilocation plugin. The csv file is https://www.dropbox.com/s/zqqfyrf4anfkhgu/shlistingallusa.csv?dl=0

Here’s the error message I get.

    Total 135 item(s) found.

135 / 135 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).

135 / 135 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type.

    Hi,

I see a couple of issues with that file. 1st it isn’t saved as CSV, but ODS. Make sure to save it as CSV file.

In the post_author column you should have only IDs.
You shouldm’t delete empty columns (I’m referring to IMAGE). Just keep them blank.

All the rest looks correct to me.

Let us know if this helped.

    Thanks

“In the post_author column you should have only IDs.”

When you say IDs, do you mean numbers, like 1, 2, 3…?
The first row/record has admin id so I should change it to a number?

I fixed the post_author ID in the 1st row and still the csv isn’t importing. Now I’m getting:

    Total 72 item(s) found.

72 / 72 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).

    File at https://www.dropbox.com/s/zqqfyrf4anfkhgu/shlistingallusa.csv?dl=0

    Hi again,

this is something I didn’t notice in the previous file.

There are several cells with spaces in front of the data in post_address, post_city and post_country.

I guess you copied and pasted from a source with extra formatting and didn’t notice that.

The first address with this formatting issue is in cell J-14 : 13420 Reese Blvd. West.

For post_city is K-3: Santa Ynez. There are a lot in this column

In addition you really need to add back the empty columns you deleted.

I’d suggest to start over on a clean sample csv file and add back data removing all extra spaces in front of words.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

I fixed all problems and I uploaded 3 forms of the csv but still I get the following error:

    Total 72 item(s) found.

72 / 72 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).

I’m so sick of this _____. I have to go to another location to use oo and create a csv and I’ve done this several days now.

    Hi Lee,

You seem to have some non uft8 characters, please save your csv in utf8 and make sure there are no wee black diamonds with questions marks that mean there is a broken character.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

This happens if post_region is left blank (depending on settings I guess?), at laest for me that’s what was causing the issue

    Hi,

post_region is a mandatory field. Please see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#mandatory

    Thanks

I have post_region field filled in (it’s the state). What settings do you have that works?

    I am reading https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/please-help-with-my-site/

#3 states that ” You will need to enable the Location Manager addon. Without that your listings can only be in your default location.”

My default location is USA, California, Los Angeles. I have records for other US states in my csv. Since my default location is USA, records for other US states will populate from my csv, correct? I want to ensure that this is not the problem.

In the meantime, I’m working on saving my csv as utf8 format so I can upload and fix this problem with the csv not importing.
