1 from the author page users can modify their listings (listings they submitted or claimed). You can use the claim listing add-on to do what you described. However you cannot name users that can or cannot submit listings, everyone can or cannot, unless you give these users access to the back end.

2 the ownership change is done via the claim listings add-on and you can even force the user to pay in order to claim the listing. Otherwise you can change the author from the backend at any time.

Make sure you didn’t enable the option “for admin use for each of these custom fields.

    Thanks

Got it! Sorry, so many details to be aware of!

Paolo, just one more question on this subject and I “believe” I’m done!

Q1> When a “user” adds a listing or claims a listing is this user’s role supposed to change to “Author” automatically?

I ask because I created a user to claim a listing created/added by another user and I had to change the role of the user (the user who claimed the listing) to Author in order to make the ownership change…. ????/

Nope, users role always remain subscriber.

You need to change to author only if you do it manually.

    Thanks

So I need to change a user who claimed a listing> to “Author” in order to assign him the listing he/she claimed, right?

No you don’t need to do anything if the user goes throught the claim system.

The change is done automatically, you just need to approve the claim or set it to be auto approved.

    Thanks
