I am having trouble with the GD layout on the SmartMag Theme. I am a total novice so probably something I am doing!
GD is sitting flush left to the screen and not within the theme page perimeters. I also only get the bottom half of the GD map showing in the top section.
Would love some pointers to what I am doing wrong.
Thanks

It seems you deleted the virtual GD pages, see
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/how-to-restore-virtual-gd-pages/Using the wrong widget on your Places page, i changed it to the correct one:
Listings map needs to be on the listings page.September 29, 2014 at 5:03 am #16834Total novice with no idea would love some help with set up! Still can’t get things working.
Re-loaded site with Child Theme and still at a total loss as to how to get GD to look like it does in the Demo.
Help Please 🙂
September 29, 2014 at 6:14 am #16840Which demo do you mean?
There is no demo using the SmartMag theme that I am aware of.
You will need to have a look at your CSS, have a look here:
http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/customizing-your-style/Can you detail the bits (with URL) that you want a hand with and I’ll have a look how I can fix things for you.
September 29, 2014 at 7:05 am #16842I want it to look like the main GD Demo http://wpgeo.directory. The Theme I am using also has Columns so I want the Directory to be column based and not full screen.
September 29, 2014 at 9:48 am #16852http://wpgeo.directory uses the GDF Child theme:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/themes/geodirectory-theme-framework/You also need to restore your virtual pages again, your location page is gone, or renamed or edited.
Completely restyling your website is outside the normal support, so either use a GD-ready theme, or have a go at learning some CSS.
Some good starting pages:

GeoDirectory was developed to work with any theme
Might want to remove that from the description as clearly it doesn’t work with any theme.
September 30, 2014 at 1:23 am #16933GD does work with any team, and we can provide some support to help you tweaking your theme, but you need to be specific about what you want.
If you want to change one theme to look completely like another theme, you should either get that other theme, or you should learn CSS yourself.
To the extent GD does not integrate with your team, we are willing to help, but any other styling you should ask from the theme developer.
So please, be specific on what page you have a problem and what is the exact problem you have with integrating GD with your theme.September 30, 2014 at 3:11 am #16939The description on GD says it works with any theme. I have a theme, I have added the GD plug in and it does not work at all so no GD doesn’t work with any theme unless major changes are made. I have been very specific, I just wanted GD to work as described in your description, that can’t happen. I have since found out that the layout in your description images is using the GD theme and not what it would look like on any theme that it is downloaded into.
I am not prepared to use the GD Theme as I already have a theme that I am using and like. Clearly GD is not compatible with the theme I am using unless I pay a lot for you to redo it which I am not prepared to pay for something that may not work. I was prepared to pay for additional add ons to GD as they look great but am not confident that the theme will do what it states.
I have deleted GeoDirectory and will use another theme that is compatible with ANY theme!
September 30, 2014 at 3:21 am #16940Like I said, it does not work because you edited the pages it needs to work, and it only needs minor css work if you show me where.
That integration would be free support, but not a redesign of your site.
I stand by the offer to assist with the integration, but respect your decision and I’ll set this topic to resolved. -
