gd_listings sort by featured pagination not working correctly

    Hey,

    In the page listed below, I am using the gd_listings shortcode which is sorted by featured.

    But I have noticed, after the featured listings, it shows the listings randomly. Which after I click next page at the bottom, will show some listings on the first page.

    Hello,

    that is a good description of the expected behavior: Featured, first, then, random, and featured only shows on the first page (if there are multiple pages).

    Can you describe more of what you would like to see instead?

    Thats what I want to see.

    Its if you use the pagination to go on the next page, it shows listings from the first page on there.

    Its the same behaviour. I am just wondering why listings on the first page, also appear on the second?

    So its repeating the listing across pages.

    Random is random 🙂 You can’t have paging and random with unique listings.
    Also random is a bad idea in most cases, it can’t be cached by the DB or by the frontend.

    So is there a way (sort by featured listings) can have featured first and then by most reviewed or anything else apart from random?

    We need to have paging on “sort by featured” as there will be to many listings to load per page.

    just so we can have paging like the other filters.

    i’m not sure what you are asking, you can have paging on any sort apart from random.

    Other non standard filters can be done with filters, there are a few examples around the forum.

    This page is using the shortcode

    [gd_listings post_type=”gd_attractions” list_sort=”featured” layout=4 category=”163″]

    it is sorting by featured which is correct – BUT

    after using the pagination at the bottom, it repeats some of the non-featured listings on the second page.

    So some of the listings that are on the first page are being shown on the second page also.

    But its not just VR Liverpool, as I assume its random it could be any listing that is not featured.
