Hello,
this is probably a bug in gd_loop_actions based on link structure.
When i click search button in main search form. I have this link structure that start with hits -> ?geodir_search=1 etc, and gd_loop_actions not existing based on CPT.
When i click to category links is based about permalink structure the problem not exist.
Is it possible to create a searchable form of friendly links based on the permalink structure?
Is it possible to separate sorting based on CPT from sorting in terms of appearance such as grid, etc?
Best.
July 1, 2019 at 4:09 pm #495697Hello,
Can you share a link to a page and point out the issue you are confronting?
GD search URLs always contain a query string.
About sorting VS layout on archive pages, perhaps you are using GDV1 but these are separate ad either can be removed in GDV2 by editing the appropriate CPT archive template.
July 1, 2019 at 7:31 pm #495756Hello, im using v2 🙂
my site is now in localhost so not possible to show.
But here is an example
https://txartisan.com/places/category/wineries-1/carrollton/
as you can see we have two sorting option – first is sortby, second is view – grid etc.
When you click search button you will get this link – >
and you don’t have sorting option, you will have only option to change view.

July 2, 2019 at 6:59 am #495823Why? this is not UX friendly. When i searching something i what to sort in the same page, this is rather standard practice in directory websites.
Is possible to make this work in GD?July 2, 2019 at 9:28 am #495856Just to make sure there is no confusion, please check these examples. You will not find sorting on search:

And i find this GeoDirectory website – >
and it have itJuly 2, 2019 at 6:37 pm #495940Hi,
those are all really category pages. We do the same if you select an option from the autocompleter. We’ll send you to a category page that you can sort.
But if you search free terms or by location, sorting is bad UX and will return wrong results.
This is a real search:
As you can see there are no sorting options.
Booking and Trivago don’t allow free terms search. They’ll autocomplete your search with something from their database every time.
Yelp is the only one doing it, but if you do it on free terms search it will return no results. So it’s not a really good example.
The GeoDirectory site is doing it on Events only and it only allows sorting by all, upcoming or past.
