GeoDirectory as a Gallery

    I am thinking of using GeoDirectory to facilitate user-uploadable public galleries. If I eliminate the category icons and address field I realize I lose the geolocate function, but they wouldn’t be necessary in this application. Has anyone tried this or are there issues with using it this way?

    Categories cannot be eliminated. The system will not work with uncategorized listings.

    For the address field you can use the CPT add-on that have an option to make CPTs locationless.

    Paolo,

    I knew it had to have categories, I just wasn’t sure I needed the icons which I found I did when adding the categories.

    I just answered no to ‘Is Active’ in the address field and it worked. Is that what you meant by the option to make CPTs locationless or is there another way?

    This actually works well for a user-uploadable public gallery. Now I just need to figure out how to get map off of this CPT only.

    No it isn’t. You can remove everything related to the address fields in GeoDirectory >> General >> Select CPT to disable physical location.

    You must have the CPT add-ons installed.

    That answer was perfect. It also removes the map from the detail page which was needed using my method. Thanks!
