Greetings, I’m using the geodirectory framework theme. However, I’ve chosen to have my homepage to display my latest posts. I would like to be able to include into my homepage some of the listings from the directory such as feature places, etc. My site is primarily a magazine/news type of site that also includes a business directory, thus the use of geodirectory.. Any advice on how to proceed would be welcome. The site is still in development but just in case anyone wants to take a look it is located at: http://FirstCoast.tv

I thank you in advance for any help..

You can add some of the GD widgets to non-GD pages.
Just pick the ones that do not rely on the location filtering like maps.
For example you can add the GD login, popular post, popular location etc …

Thanks for the quick reply.. I’m a bit confused. Of course, I’m using the child theme for the GDF. In my preferences, under settings -> reading I have my front page displays my latest post. I also have un-checked make GD my homepage. I don’t see any areas under the widgets page for adding widgets to my homepage’s content area. All I see are for the GD TOP HOME Session and the like. Is there another page besides index.php in which I should add the widgets?

Thanks again for the quick reply..

In Appearance > Widgets, you will see 3 sections called GD Blog Details, GD Blog Listing an GD Page Details.
    Add your widgets there.

The GD Home section is for the home of your directory, not the home of your site.

Thanks again for the quick reply.. I found out that to get listings on my content area of my “homepage”, I had to add the code that widgetizes the content section. So I created a new “sidebar” in the child’s functions.php and it worked. Thanks again..

Ah, did not know you wanted them in a different area than your sidebar 🙂
    All solved then.
