GeoDirectory Framework Theme Beta released

Hello everyone,

We have release our Framework theme as a beta, we hope you will use it and report any bugs so we can release it as a stable release soon. (requires GeoDirectory 1.0.1)

There may be styling issues with some addons which we will look at tomorrow but we thought it best to give it to you as a beta and start reporting problems straight away.

The point of the framework is that we will keep GD running smooth on it and we will create many child theme’s for it, using it as a solid base foundation.

This is my test site if you want a quick look, please note i will be doing testing here so it might do down or somethings might be broken at times: DEMO: http://drinking.directory/

Here is a basic install guide.

#1 Download both GeoDirectory Framework(GDF) and GeoDirectroy Framework Child (GDFC) from your download area.

#2 Install both theme’s in your WordPress theme upload section BUT ONLY ACTIVATE THE GDFC (child theme)

#3 You will see a GDF Options section in your backend WordPress sidebar, here you can make lots and lots of changes to the style of the theme and enable more widget areas such as footer widget areas, there are lot’s of options here so i’m sure it will keep you bust 🙂

#4 you should adjust your page width settings in your GeoDirectroy control panel to Content 67% and Sidebars to 30%

#5 if you are running the map on the homepage you can set the width in it’s widget setting to 100%

#6 if your menu is missing please add on as per normal WordPress instructions.

#7 the theme should look great on mobile and tablets, so give it a go.
