GeoDirectory Search Not Working Correctly

    If someone searches Orlando(choose any city you like to search), It’s displaying all location’s profile not only selected city’s profile.
    I’m using GeoDirectory V2 on my staging, Is I’m missing something in setting ?

    If you just type it, instead of selecting the suggestion, then you will get a different kind of Near search. Try that and let us know.

    Yes, It working on type instead of selecting from suggestion, Then what wrong when someone select from suggestion and what is the use of suggestions ?

    Other Issue: If someone searches orlando and the prompt shows up.. they only get places with the word Orlando in it. So people in a 200 mile radius won’t show up even if 5 miles away from downtown Orlando. Then what is the use of radius in 200 miles here, or I’m missing here something that’s why it’s not looking in 200 miles radius ?

    If you select what is suggested you see only listings IN that city.
    If you write the location name and don’t select, you’ll see all listings near that location within the radius that you have in your settings.

    If you only want the latter, you can disable the autocompleter.

    Hi Tracy,
    please provide access past the browser login and also WP Admin in case we need to check the settings.

    Please also share the exact URL of your search so we can see the same thing you are seeing.

    The developers will take a look. I am also seeing the same results regardless of the location that is set while search radius is set for 200 miles.

    Hello Tracy,

    Issue #1 & Issue #2

    Update GeoDirectory and its plugins. We have some changes related to autocomplete search in recent versions.

    Issue #3

    By default [gd_listings] shows 5 listings. Add parameter post_limit to [gd_listings] to display listings. Ex: [gd_listings post_limit=20]
    You can do this in “Directory” page edit.

    Hi Tracy,

    It looks like you have customization for GeoDirectory search. I see following hidden field is missing which used to filter results by location after search submit.

    <input class="geodir-location-search-type" name="" type="hidden" value="">

    Please provide FTP credentials to check more and fix it.

    I will create a FTP Account and give to you.
    When I will send you the FTP account detail, Please have a look on these issue:
    1. Issue #1: Pending.
    2. Issue #3: Pending.
    3. Issue #4: When a search is done for certain cities – for example, Toronto – some people in Toronto or nearby show up, but then it also shows people in NY. As I found in setting to show searches within 200 miles but NY is not within 200 miles from Toronto then why it is picking NY professionals in Toronto?

    #3 – Syracuse is more than 200 by driving, but the measurements we use are ‘as the crow flies’, direct lines that cross rivers. I will let the developers confirm that.
