Good morning,
I attempted to upgrade the Geodirectory plugin from version 1 to version 2 on another site that I had the old version on. This upgrade worked somewhat ok, and I have been working since yesterday to style it. However, I have been having an issue with the UsersWP integration.
When I am a logged out user, I click on the Add Listing page. On this page, it states “You must login to post.” Below this blue box, there is a Login and Register link.
However, when clicking on either of these two links, nothing happens. If, however, I right click, and open them in a new tab, they go to the pages that they are supposed to. However, a user is not going to be able to figure this out, and will simply leave this page due to confusion and frustration.
I need these links to work on the page they are on. Instead of having to right click and open in a new page or tab, they need to work on the Add Listing page itself. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong, or where this can be fixed?

Check the UsersWP settings for the modal option. That will launch popup login and register forms there if you have the latest version.
If that isn’t working please share WP Admin credentials and we can check into it.
January 10, 2020 at 5:13 pm #525087Can you please tell me where this modal option is? How do I get to it?
January 10, 2020 at 5:30 pm #525090And yes, the UsersWP plugin is fully updated
January 10, 2020 at 5:43 pm #525096I seem to have fixed it, for anyone else who has this same issue (I have seen several other questions about this same issue, where the answers are all marked private).
When you go to UsersWP (the button on the left of the screen in the wordpress backend dashboard), to the Developer tab (which is not inside the add-ons area, just in the main UsersWP area, check the option to display the “Design Style” as Legacy (non-boostrap), and then the login buttons on the Add Listing page actually work when you click on them, without having to right click and open a new window.
I am testing the ability now to create the account, and actually create a listing. Thanks!
January 10, 2020 at 5:49 pm #525098In the Add Listing page, on mobile, the blue box that appears saying that you must login to post looks like a button, but it is not a clickable button. Instead, the two little links below are what is clickable, and this could easily be confusing for users.
Is it possible to make the blue box that says “you must login to post” a clickable button that leads to the login page itself?
The Login and Register links could also be bigger buttons, if that is possible for a future update, as a mobile user may have difficulty seeing these links as they are somewhat small.
They are readable, but these two options, above, would be great to add to a future update of UsersWP. They would also look better on desktop if changed in the way suggested, so there would be no need to make special changes just for mobile. If this is already an option that I can select somewhere, please let me know. Thank you.
January 10, 2020 at 6:12 pm #525103Now that I am able to create listings (as stated above, a user can login and create a listing), there are two new problems with the listings that are created.
1) Pictures or logos that the user uploads show in the upload preview panel before submission, but then disappear and are no longer in the listing when it is approved (or edited prior to approval)
2) in the listings details page, I have put in the shortcode [gd-map] as shown on your list of shortcodes. However, while the map displays on the directory page which shows all listings and categories, and on the sides of the directory or places page, on the listings detail page, the map shows, and says that there are no results found, please try using a different search. However, I have added no parameters or limiters to the shortcode above, so it should be showing the map. Can you please tell me why this might be happening?
This is the full description field on the GD Details page:
[gd_map]
[gd_notifications]
[gd_post_images type=’slider’ ajax_load=’true’ slideshow=’true’ show_title=’true’ animation=’slide’ controlnav=’1′ ]
[gd_single_taxonomies]
[gd_single_tabs]
[gd_single_next_prev]Thank you for your help.

January 13, 2020 at 4:36 pm #525386Can you please provide some suggestions as to what the issue might be for these two problems I am having? I prefer not to share my login credentials for every little issue that this software has. It would also be better for other users who may be searching for the same issue that I am having to learn what the problem might be, rather than just finding out that you fixed it for me.
Since I have several other sites that also have geodirectory and need to be upgraded, it is important that I learn how to make it work on my own, rather than just having you fix the issue for me, so that then when the same issue happens on another site, I have to have you fix it for me again.
The issue again is that when I go to the directory main page, the maps work fine, and have all the little icons there. However, when I click on a listing that I have created, which has the correct address, the map shows the error message of no listings found, and this error persists even if I zoom out the map area, and zoom back in on the area where the listing is located.
The second issue is that the logo in the new test listing I created is not working, but the logos on listings I created before the upgrade work fine.
Can you please check on the pages, and let me know some possibilities for why it is giving this error? Previously, as stated above, the map on the directory main page was having the same error, at which point I changed the bootstrap in the userswp developer section. This made that map appear, but this other issue I noticed when I tried to create a new listing and check the old listings that I had placed.
This particular server is running php 5.6, so there should not be an issue using this plugin. Please let me know what I should check next in order to fix this issue myself. Thank you.
January 14, 2020 at 3:55 pm #525565Hi, I haven’t received a reply back as of yet. I would like to please receive an answer to my question, as it is likely a simple fix. Can you please offer some suggestions as to what could be causing the problem? Thank you.
January 14, 2020 at 8:46 pm #525603Hi, I found the test listing that it appears one of your staff created. I have activated it. At this point, the only remaining issue is the map issue. I have tried editing the details page with every iteration I could find for the shortcode for the gd_map element (such as [gd_map width=”100%” height=”425px” maptype=”ROADMAP” zoom=”14″ map_type=”post” post_settings=”0″]).
I tried modifying the Places > Settings > Tab page with different map elements, and even a shortcode placed there, with the above shortcode in it, as well as abbreviated shortcode ([gd_map width=”100%”]) – which was how I managed to get the main directory page map showing the other day. None of these methods actually work for the listing details page. Every single different way that I try, it just comes up as No Listings Found.
I also tried to make the map using custom map types, changing the style in that sub-menu in the Geodirectory Settings area. This didn’t work either.
The issue again is: The map works fine on the main directory page, but does not work at all on the listings details pages. I have tried it on multiple listings details pages, including the test one that you created.
Please help with this issue. Thank you.
January 14, 2020 at 11:18 pm #525619I thought I had replied, but it looks like I forgot to click the submit button.
Here is the reply I had prepared:1) Pictures or logos that the user uploads show in the upload preview panel before submission, but then disappear and are no longer in the listing when it is approved (or edited prior to approval)
Without specific investigation on your site, we cannot know what the problem is, because that is site specific. I have not seen this reported before.
Do all you other sites have the same problem?
It could be a conflict with other plugins or your theme.
Does the problem fix itself if you use a simple theme like 2017?
Does the problem fix itself if you de-activate non-GD plugins?
Please make sure to update WP, it is still at 5.2.5.
PHP 7.3 is recommended: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/2) in the listings details page, I have put in the shortcode [gd-map] as shown on your list of shortcodes.
Try re-saving your permalinks, and make sure they are set to “postname” as explained here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/The second issue is that the logo in the new test listing I created is not working, but the logos on listings I created before the upgrade work fine.
When adding a test listing, there was no option to add a logo.
Do you have an active logo custom field? Thanks
January 14, 2020 at 11:43 pm #525621Hi,
The *only* remaining issue is that the map is not showing any places on the individual listings. The map on the main directory page shows everything properly.
The permalinks are set to “post name” already.
I will create a test WP site on a different server with PHP7.
Some of our servers have a limitation of PHP 5.6 and so of course that limits us to which version of WP we can install on those servers. But if necessary, we can move any of these WP sites that use your add-on to different servers running a more recent version of PHP, to see if that’s the only issue.
I will also create another test with WP and a different theme to check for conflicts.
I will also test yet another WP install using no other add-ons but this one.
Thank you for your help.
January 15, 2020 at 6:48 am #525669Try using only a single map on the details page with the GD Map element set for “post”
There are 3 maps on the page and it’s a bit difficult to guess what is going on without access.
