I am getting a little bit closer to a solution, but need a little more help.
So, instead of writing the shortcode myself, I used the shortcode generator on the details page. The shortcode now looks like this:
[gd_map title=”Listings Map” width=”100%” height=”425px” maptype=”SATELLITE” zoom=”1″ map_type=”post” map_directions=”1″ scrollwheel=”1″ static=”1″]If I change any of these elements (especially the static and the scrollwheel), the map gives the error again.
I wanted to know what “post ID” refers to, and what number this should be changed to. This option shows up when I click on map type->post map, and is blank and gives no explanation. I am wondering if there is a number or command that should be placed there that would fix this issue that I am still having, detailed below.
At this point, the map displays without the “no search results found” error message, but has nothing on it (no location pins).
I can zoom in, I can put in a location in the search box and it will display a pin for the location I choose, but none of the listings that should be in the visible area of the map display.
In addition, there is a little box on the top left of the map that displays, and if I click on that, the error comes back up.
Also, the map that displays on the right, that comes from the widget in the appearances menu, not a shortcode, still displays with that error. However, on all other geodirectory pages, that map displays properly.
This honestly makes no sense, since it is the same command that is displaying the map. Do I need to create a separate widget to display on the location page and on the details page, each with a different type of map (auto for the location pages, and post for the details pages)?
Any suggestions for how to get the map icons to display on the map, which now shows up on the listings details page? And things I can try to answer the widget question would be helpful as well. Thank you.

That is how it always should be done.
I wanted to know what “post ID” refers to, and what number this should be changed to.
You should leave that empty unless you want to create a map for a particular listing on a normal WP page.
I can zoom in, I can put in a location in the search box and it will display a pin for the location I choose, but none of the listings that should be in the visible area of the map display.
If you use the “map_type=post” setting, then only one listing can show. Either the listing of the detail page where you added the shortcode, or if you added the shortcode anywhere else, you need to add a post ID of the listing you want to show.
In addition, there is a little box on the top left of the map that displays, and if I click on that, the error comes back up.
If you added a URL, then we could check that.
Also, the map that displays on the right, that comes from the widget in the appearances menu, not a shortcode, still displays with that error. However, on all other geodirectory pages, that map displays properly.
Without access to the admin area, there is nothing we can add.
Do I need to create a separate widget to display on the location page and on the details page, each with a different type of map (auto for the location pages, and post for the details pages)?
Correct, that is why there are different types of map.
Any suggestions for how to get the map icons to display on the map, which now shows up on the listings details page?
Not without access to the admin area, sorry.
Thanks
January 16, 2020 at 8:26 pm #526060Hi, I have determined something that I think may be causing the problem.
I added your geodirectory version 2 to a totally different site on a third server, and created a listing with the free version. This listing worked perfectly. Then I added the membership into the geodirectory, along with the multi-location add on.
Everything appeared to work correctly, including maps on the details page with pins. This server has a php version of 7.2.
However, then, in order to better replicate the conditions under which the issue manifested, I added in the pressnews theme. Suddenly, the listings that I had created did not work, AT ALL. In other words, I would click on one of them, and it would show me just a thumbnail picture, no map with pins on it, although there was a map on the right side (created by the widget) that was still working.
All the other listings (most of which were the dummy listings created by your program), when I click on them on the places page, come up as sorry, page not found, or “this is embarassing, isn’t it”. This isn’t even the same issue as I am having on the server with the lower php version, but is an entirely different and more severe issue.
When I deleted the PressNews theme from the wordpress themes page, the problem continues to persist, and appears to have caused a severe continuing conflict that I cannot resolve. I don’t even know where I would start. So, the maps on the listings page work on this new site with the business directory theme, but nothing works with Pressnews theme. Is this a conflict that you are aware of? Is there a reason why this might be happening with this particular theme? Is there a way to work around it?
Since I really like the PressNews theme for this site, is there a guide to installing a separate theme just for the directory, so that I can use the PressNews theme for the main site, and a different theme for the directory pages? Please let me know. Thank you.
January 16, 2020 at 9:34 pm #526074Hi, I have finally determined that the map viewing issue I am having on this site is related to the php version, and not the PressNews theme. The Pressnews theme also conflicts with your plugin in other ways, as described above (throwing page not found errors for active created listings when PressNews is installed and activated).
However, I installed a fresh version of wordpress on the same server (with php 5.6), in a different folder, with the out-of-the-box theme that comes with wordpress. Listings created duplicate the exact same error that I have described, where the map has an error message across it saying that there are no listings found.
As far as your plugin being compatible with PressNews, can you please check on this for me? Perhaps I need to use an additional plugin that allows multiple themes on the same wordpress site. Do you have one that you can suggest? Thank you.
January 16, 2020 at 10:22 pm #526087Please provide access to a server where the latest GD, PressNews and WP is installed and we can have a look. Include WP admin and FTP details.
It is possible that the error is because you are trying to add different maps to the same page, with different parameters.
Create the same GD templates on that test server so we look into that.
Thanks
