    Hi guys

    Unfortunately the new release of GeoDirectory appears to have completely destroyed the theme we have built from the GeoDirectory v1. Of course we have the back up version and happy to reactivate but, from first look, it looks as though the replacement customised templates we used for list detail just can’t work – it primarily relied on hooks from the original v1 which are either removed and no longer available, or superseded by shortcodes.

    Any thoughts?

    For example, for our search bar, we had previously used the hook

    do_action(‘geodir_home_before_main_content’);

    This now doesn’t populate the Advanced Search bar. Can I assume that if we have built the theme from these hooks then the theme just won’t work?

    Unfortunately all of the custom widgets we had were also removed during the installation of v2.

    Those hooks are obsolete in V2 because you can design the whole template yourself using blocks or shortcodes, instead of being restrained by the top, content and bottom section in V1.

    You can add the [gd_search] shortcode or block anywhere you like now using your normal page editor, without have to use any hooks.

    Thanks

    Just fix your pages linked from GD > Settings > Pages.
    They should be working as they are now, you may just want to customize them.
    If you get stuck, you know where we are 🙂
