    Hello,

When a user selects “Get Directions” from a cell phone it takes them to google. However, this doesn’t seem to use directions that are user friendly. It doesn’t allow for voice directions and keeps on prompting the user to open the google maps app. If the app is opened, then the destination address doesn’t automatically transfer into the app. The user will then have to manually enter the destination address. This makes the process a little confusing for users.

Can this be fixed? My website is http://www.thatlocalshop.com

    Thank You,

    Dave

The Get Directions link will work correctly if the user allows the Google Map app. I guess it might be loosing the address if the phone is set u not to use the Google Map app automatically. I am not sure if anything can be done about phone users’ choices.
I’ll get one of the developers to have a look too at your question.

On my phone it automatically opens the google maps app and works, we send the GPS so to get the exact place, if we send and address Google will geolocate that address which might be wrong, but with GPS its exact.

What phone and browser are u using?

Thank you for your responses. I’m using an I Phone 4 with Safari as my browser. Could this be the issue? Because some visitors may have an older phone as I do, they may run into the same issue. To help them, is it possible for them to have the option to easily copy and paste the address so that they can put it into any directions app? Maybe the whole address highlights with one click, followed by a copy button pop up? This of course would be in addition to the get directions tab already available and would simply give visitors another option with getting directions.

    Thank You,

    Dave

    Hello Stiofan,

This works better on my phone.

    I have three additional questions:

    1. Would it also work good on android phones and non apple devices?
    2. Was it the age of my phone (I phone 4) that was causing the issue with the original settings?
    2. If it was my phone, is there a way for me to easily change it back to its original settings in the future? I think that the google directions nav may be superior to the apple maps nav and I just want to make sure that the majority of visitors are using the nav that’s most helpful to them. In this, I know that many people may already have a more up to date phone that may possibly work good with the original google directions nav settings.

Thank you in advance for all your help, you guys are awesome!
