    Hi,

    All my places so far are in the UK. I just added one place in the USA and boom!

    On the homepage now the map is ( depending on how I set things ) …..

    a/ Zoomed out so I can only see the ocean between Uk and USA

    or

    b/ Zoomed ( Using AutoZoom ) so that I can see a mass of pins in the UK and one pin in the USA.

    I want to have it so that the home page just opens on the default location in the UK. I click what I think is that option in the Location Manager but it doesn’t change anything.

    My site is http://www.camperandvan.com.

    Hope you can help. Apologies in advance if I did something stupid or missed something obvious.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hello,

    The GD Home Map widget will always include all the listings on your site.

    The only way to make it show a specific area is to have listings only in that area.

    Hey Alex,

    Thank you for the quick reply…

    Is there any way to set the center point though? So that the center of the map is not the middle of the atlantic ocean?

    I had hoped that the redirect to default location would do that.. is that not what it is supposed to do?

    If it is, then I cannot get it to work for some reason…

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hello,

    The center point will be the center of the listings, and there isn’t a way to set it manually.

    If you have the location manager installed and allow multiple locations you will find each location has a country, so there is a page where UK is the center of the map because it is showing only the listings in the UK.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks…
    I have kind of work around I have added a west ( In North Canada ) and east ( In East Russia ) place so that UK is the center of the map.

    I have called the category z-centre-on-uk and given it a see-through marker pin.

    Have a look…

    http://www.camperandvan.com

    My question now is … Is there anyway to remove this category from the options in the list of checkboxes whilst still keeping the pins on the map so it stays centred on the UK?

    Best regards,

    Mike

    Hmmm…

    you can make the marker an invisible PNG.

    I will forward your question to Kor who might have an idea about hiding it.

    Hi Mike,

    Try this custom CSS code and see if it works. Insert into GD > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS

    div#geodir_map_v3_home_map_1_cat li:nth-child(9){
        display:none!important;
    }

    Perfect, thank you.

    Do Custom CSS changes stay after updates?

    If I put the CSS into as Child Theme CSS would it have the same effect or would I need to do something different or does it have to stay in custom CSS.

    Thank again Guys for your help. 🙂

    One more for you Kor.

    Any way to remove that same one from Popular categories so it is not shown at the top of the home page also.

    Just a little Friday brain workout for you.

    Thanks,

    Mike
