    Hello from Amsterdam!

Since I installed the new Google Analytics system included in WPGeodirectory it seems that traffic has increased big time….
Normally I would be very happy with an increase in visitors, but I think this might be a bug…
I also use this plugin: Google Analytics by Yoast.

    Did you encountered any problems?

    Cheers, Jan

    Hi,

can you please be more specific?

Do you see any difference between visits reported on Google Analytics for each listings and visits on the widget?

    Let us know,

    Thx

    Hi Paolo,

    Sorry I wasn’t clear enough…

As you can see on the attached imagescreen I have had an enourmous (almost double) increase in pageviews from the day I installed the Google Aanalytuics feature.
Also on that day my bouncerate dropped (second orange arrow).

So I thought the Google Analytics code within WP Geodir had something to do with it….

    Cheers, Jan

    Hi,
that looks strange, however what you installed only reads data from Google analytics…

It shouldn’t be altering page views. I don’t see how it could.

Did you check statistics for that period only, to see if there is one or more pages that are responsible for the increase?

I’ve flagged this for Stiofan… maybe he has some other ideas.

    Thanks

    Hi Paolo,

    Thx for the answer.

Perhaps because now the google analytics code is twice on my website it is counting every view double?

    – With the Google Analytics PLugin by Yoast
    – Code in your function for Google Analytics

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Cheers, Jan

    Hi Jan,

Maybe if you have your tracking code on the page twice, you only need to insert your tracking code on the GD analytics page (at the bottom) if you don’t have it installed anywhere else.

    Hi Paolo & Stiofan,

After removing the tracking code from your plugin, numbers are back to normal…
    See attached file..

    So something went wrong.

    Cheers, Jan

Sometime Google analytics tracks traffic from invalid source, It counts bounce rate as a unique visitors Probably, thats why you are getting huge traffic. Ensure that the configuration is correct, Otherwise try something else like Gostats. It is easy to install & shows accurate report.

We changed from sessions to pageviews in the last release, just FYI.
