Hello,
i just loaded my home page and had to wait for somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds while the browser bar showed ‘waiting for google analytics’. Looking on the web, I came across this article (http://www.analyticsmarket.com/blog/tracking-code-slows-my-site) that suggests:
“Waiting for google-analytics.com”
Some have noticed on slow-loading pages that the status message in their browser sometimes says “Waiting for google-analytics.com”. This only happens on sites that run an ancient version of the Google Analytics tracking code!
– could this be the case?
Also – this slowed page rendering (my advertisers slide-show did not load until the ga issue was finished) and pingdom shows it is quite early in the page loading process – can the GA/geodirectory be coded to not stop page rendering?
I have only notice this once recently (GA was particularly slow), but I don’t want it happening at all!
site/admin details to follow.
Thanks,
Adrian
