I did a search using United States Fire Department Insurance for site https://USDFins.com and to my amaze the title started with the word “Location” instead of Fire Department Insurance. What a relief! I was going bonkers..

Please see image attached. I know I caused this in some plugin setting either Geodir or SEO Yoast.

I have written to support with them as well.

Can you you tell me if this is a GD setting?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Steve,

Location is the page title of the location page which is displayed via SEO meta variable %%title%%.
Please check location page SEO variables at
    – Pages > Location > SEO Settings (if you are using Yoast SEO meta settings)
    OR
    – GeoDirectory > Title & Metas > Location page meta title (if you are using GeoDirectory SEO meta settings)

    Let us know.

    Thanks,

Thank you Kiran. This is “over my head” in understanding. Does this apply to the premium SEO Yoast and the current versio on Yoast also?

If I post this on the job board what are my chances that someone will be able to assist me in my settings on USDFins.com.

    Kind regards,

This applies to all versions of Yoast.

This is something a junior-intermediate wordpress tech could help you with.

However, since you are at the point of checking your listings on Google (which is awesome!) you may want to hire someone who can help review all your SEO settings, and specifically someone with experience with Yoast.

    Hi Steve,

If you just want to remove “Location” word from SEO title then provide admin credentials i will do it for you.
But as Alex said, if you want some advanced SEO settings that you have to hire someone.

Thank you all of you who replied. I have a large number of projects to completed with over a dozen domains under development.

I feel it is best for me to enroll into their university and do some brain storming using various methods so that ” I ” can gain the understanding.

Just one more thing to learn.

    Thank you all.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

the location part can’t prevent Google from reading your text, that is what ultimately use to rank pages in site. Than you have off site factors that are even more important. Like backlinks.

If this website isn’t ranking like others, probably the niche is much more competitive.

    Thanks
