Grid display of CPT category types

Hello. I would like to create a page that would display “one” type of Custom post type but allow for there to be columns and rows according to the type of “parent” category.

For example, a restaurant review page with images of the various types of restaurants such as “American” Japanese, French. The “review page” is just a concept to funnel people to look at the various restaurants and then seek that type of restaurant to look at review.
