I have managed to get GD up and running on my test site. I have a backup from the GT database. Can i just move the GT database into the new GD database or go through some type of conversion process? Thanks
September 2, 2016 at 5:01 pm #258473You need to follow these instructions here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/geotheme-to-geodirectory-conversion-tutorial/
if you have already backed up you can skip to “Start The Conversion”Stiofan

I was able to get everything installed and running, however, the database is still giving me an issue. I backed it up as an Excel CSV file on my desktop. Using the Admin panel I attempted several times to import the file using import wizard in the attached screen grab. The file is too large for Open Office. Does this need to be converted before uploading again? Also I need to change the copyright year in the footer. I saw it once, but can’t find it again. Where is it located?
ThanksSeptember 5, 2016 at 5:20 pm #260403if the conversion worked you should not have to import anything, they should already be there.
The copyright text depends on what theme you are using, usually you will find the text in the customizer under header.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 5, 2016 at 6:35 pm #260458OK, thanks I will have a look there and keep you posted on the import issue.
Thanks againSeptember 7, 2016 at 11:30 pm #262407Stiofan:
I spent most of the day on the phone with my ISP tech support and several issues were resolved. The copy of the database was moved back into its original location and I began installing the program again. The GT2GD conversion tool will not install. I am the Admin so even with full control something is not working.1. The original database is not connecting to GD program
2. the new POI’s on the front page are not being displayed properly.
3. Regarding the copyright issue: I am using the GD child theme and cannot locate the field to adjust the copyright date.
4. I don’t know if these are WordPress or GD issues. If you could take a look/adjust the backend, I can send you the login info, let me know where please.
Many thanks

I am still waiting for a reply to my post on September 7th. The last post to you, following the September 7th one has disappeared from the site. You wanted me to keep all posts gathered together, that’s fine, but if they are not being answered, I’m not sure what the value of that move is without support. No doubt you are busy with other things, perhaps the support forums could have a little more attention paid to them? Here is the line from your support policy,
“Support Forum – hours of operations
Our support hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 (UK Time). We guarantee an answer within 24 hours to all Support Topic Monday to Friday and within 48 hours during weekends. This doesn’t mean all solutions will be provided within 24 or 48 hrs. For more advanced or technical queries it may as well take longer.”
I’m seeking a reasonable response time for support questions to be answered, my site is still not working after 3 weeks, the conversion from GT to GD program unlinked all my images and I have new issues on the home page. These are not advanced, programming, coding or technical queries, just simple questions as to why some items appear and how to control them.
Some of the issues have appeared to resolve themselves while new ones have popped up. I did not realize that I would need a month to convert and reset my site. Would liked to have known that in advance. I noticed that the GT site is off-line. I was still using that for solutions and assistance. With that sire has removed, I was forced to convert to GD, thereby causing additional challenges I do not want.
Let me know
Thank you -
