I’ve tested edge and chrome and this is what I’m seeing.
January 11, 2017 at 11:00 pm #341202I was just trying to give Kiran some information to get him started, because I had had a look yesterday, but only today I saw the differences when logged in vs logged out.
I’m sure Kiran will come to the rescue.January 12, 2017 at 11:08 am #341356Hi Tom,
We have checked from our side and found that javascript from BuddyBoss Wall plugin is conflicts with the ajax search.
One javascript file buddyboss-wall/assets/js/buddyboss-wall.js#L466 from BuddyBoss Wall plugin taking control over the jQuery AJAX function jQuery.ajax() by overwrite function.
This causes conflict for jQuery.ajax() function in rest of plugins.
Check screenshot, it shows taking control over the jQuery AJAX function via window.Code.BuddyBoss_Wall.When disabled BuddyBoss Wall plugin, the search functionality working fine as excepted. So you have to contact BuddyBoss Wall owner for support.
Let us know.
Thanks,
KiranJanuary 12, 2017 at 2:12 pm #341418Thanks everyone, I will bring this up with BuddyBoss and keep you informed. Cheers!
January 13, 2017 at 3:44 pm #342100Hi Kiran can you tell me which url this error is coming up on? That is what the dev from buddyboss asked. Verbatim: “Could you please point me to the url on which you getting this error? Since the attached screenshot is too small in the size, I could not get clear view.”
What should I say?
January 14, 2017 at 12:15 am #342314Hi,
wherever the search form is. In this case in the GD home where we could see the search form getting stuck.
Hope this helps,
Thanks
January 16, 2017 at 4:23 am #343359Hi Tom,
I got this error (via firebug) on page https://powerlily.io/hub/ when typing in any keyword in search form.
Open image attachment in new tab/window for full view OR use this link https://wpgd-jzgngzymm1v50s3e3fqotwtenpjxuqsmvkua.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/powerlily.io-hub.png
Thanks,
KiranJanuary 17, 2017 at 4:25 pm #344544Hi Kiran et al,
Could you have another look at this? The buddyboss wall dev has been working on it for a few days now to no avail and he asked if you could take another look. I actually just tried deactivating buddyboss wall and the search still doesn’t work properly which has sent me into somewhat of a panic. I’m not sure what to do at this point. I appreciate your help.
Cheers,
January 18, 2017 at 6:33 pm #345271We’ve updated the code for buddyboss wall twice. The dev is asking for someone to have another look. I wish I was more privy to the technical details so that I could understand this but alas all I know is that the search does not work, regardless of buddyboss wall being active or inactive and thus my directory is rendered unusable.
January 19, 2017 at 12:36 pm #345639Hi Tom,

It is working for me now.See attachment.

January 19, 2017 at 6:37 pm #345814Hi Kiran, thanks for getting back to me. The problem I’m seeing is that the search bar is not discriminating between categories or locations. If you attempt to search for “solar installers” (the default cpt) and you type in a location, the results page will just show a bunch of stuff, like my terms of use page (see attached images). Just searching for a cpt without typing location or any categories pulls all pages as well. You can see this for yourself, the first stuff to show up seems to be pages when it should only be things within the specified cpt. What you have shown me in your image is in fact the only functioning feature of the search bar.
Now, is there still a conflict with another plugin, have I set it up wrong, or is it inherently broken?
At a risk of sounding rude, and only because Matt Damon communicated with Earth faster in the Martian, can you please test the search extensively so that we are on the same page.
Thank you for your help and patience.
January 19, 2017 at 9:54 pm #345952HI Tom,
that’s normally due to a conflict with another pluign. Please disable all non GD plugins momentarily to see if the problem persist.
That way we’ll know where to check.
Thanks
January 20, 2017 at 5:13 am #346035Hello Tom,
Please check now.

KiranJanuary 20, 2017 at 5:51 am #346048Ah this is enlightening. I see it is working perfectly when you are logged in as the admin, but I don’t think it’s do to with being an admin it’s because the admin is also a “Seller” member on the PMPRO (Paid Memberships Pro) plugin that I’m using. If you are logged in to buddypress and not signed up as a seller i.e. a member on that plugin it still does not work. Needless to say it also doesn’t work if you aren’t logged in at all. Does this mean that the problem is with the pmpro plugins?
Thanks again.January 20, 2017 at 6:32 am #346053Okay, got rid of all the pmpro plugins so there is only buddypress users and users who are not logged in. The search form only works for logged in users.
