Hi,
I’m in need of help or guidance on how to correctly display my vendor Categories once the page loads.
Currently on the Popular Listings are displayed, it’s only when one clicks on VIEW ALL that the Categories and Search Bar options comes up. How do I display Categories (preferably centered) above the listings?
Is there a way to get the categories as a drop down menu in the sidebar as well?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Could you please share your Website Wp admin access in private reply so that we could check out your GD setup?
Thanks!
May 15, 2018 at 10:53 am #430638O.k, I kind-of narrowed it down to Customize>Widgets>GD Home Content Section But it still doesn’t display by default – I have to click on View All for the widgets to appear. Even with Visibility options added.
Also the buttons are clear, they don’t inherit the theme color settings. Any solution for this? Tried looking for the text options and forums, but no clear answer there either.

The search bar in question is still pulling “Vendors” from somewhere – I’ve eliminated it from the sidebar fields but don’t know where this is set in settings.
If that is the CPT selector, then, remove all vendor listings and/or delete the CPT.
2. Is it possible to create a Category Drop Down menu option here in the search fields?
Yes, https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#cat
3. Is it possible to create a Multiple Town Drop Down menu option here in the search fields?
No, but the Location Switcher can be added as a shortcode or a menu element: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multilocations/
4. Button doesn’t inherit child/theme colors – will try to fix with css later today or tomorrow.
Please send a URL and a screenshot and a description of what you are looking for and we will try to help.
5. Business name search field is very white – can’t see that there’s a field there… Anyway to get this smaller with the search button below next to it.
In terms of CSS, what are you looking for? URL?
6. And then main issue from the start – how to ad a category display or drop down here?
In the sidebar, you would use a widget like Popular Categories. It does not have a dropdown though.

Thanks for your reply. Insert the custom CSS code below into GD > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS and see if it helps. You might want to change the color a bit there to suit your needs.
