Hi,
I have issue with how search works. My website is in Cyrillic and I use Place tags to create kind of subcategories to Place Categories. When testing Search with entering one of the tags e.g. “climbing wall” the results include also Places that are not tagged with this tag, neither contain the words in their description and I do not get some of the Places that are tagged with “climbing wall”.Being a newbie I need your help to resolve that and get proper search results.
Thanks for your time,

please provide a URL and admin credentials in a private reply and possibly a couple of example (copy the URL after making the search and paste it) so that we can see the problem in action.
Let us know,

June 18, 2015 at 10:51 am #42962Hi, It looks like it’s picking up the “за” in the tag and checking for matches in titles ect.
I will talk with Paolo and discuss a solution.
It does look like the ones with proper tags are coming first?

June 18, 2015 at 6:22 pm #43018I have added an option to general>search to limit small words from being included in search, if you know how, you can download out latest from github which has the setting, i then suggest you set it to 2 characters

There was an extra problem as the php function strlen doubles the size of multybite letters so i had to change it to: mb_strlen($kword, ‘UTF-8’)
Please check your search results now and let us know.
With regards to memory limits on the backend, please increase your PHP memory limit, just now it’s at about 64mb, you need to at least have that at 128mb or even higher if you can.
Thanks,
Stiofan
June 20, 2015 at 8:48 pm #43198Hi Stiofan,
sorry for the long delay in replying I was liaising with my hosting provider re the PHP memory limitations, as agreed with them it was set to 196MB and….voila all is working just perfect and nicely. I’ve tested search – now it’s just as I dreamed it shall be.
Bottomline – as I said many times before your work is more than appreciated, many thanks for your dedication, efforts and time to help me resolve that issue. GD is the perfect solution for me, I knew it, now it is even better. Thanks, thanks, thanks and so sorry that I can’t buy the team a pint of beer 🙂 But extending GD will be a nice start I guess 🙂
Once again thanks a million,
